    Description

    US Rifle Model 1892 Krag Bayonet with Sheath.  Comes with the belt loop attachment too.  Bayonet measures 16-1/4" overall with a blade length of 11-3/4.  Good showing  age patina, wear, and original finish, mixed with smooth patchy gray spotting.  Ricasso area of blade marked, "US" with opposite side having date of "1898", Blade edge has no chips and does not appear to be sharpened.  Very good wood grips.  Bayonet is tight with no looseness. Pommel end shows a dark brown/rust patina along with dent free scabbard.  The belt hangar works well and moves and locks at "10" and "2" as it should.   These were used on the Krag .30-40 Rifles in the Spanish American War and the early 1900's prior to WW1.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.  A well made item and in nice condition.
