This is fragile condition patriotic cover and enclosed original letter written and mailed on Jan 9, 1899 by John H. Aschenbach, a member of Company G, 3rd Regiment, at Camp Haskell, Georgia. He is writing to his sister in Freehold, NJ to let her know that "...we are under orders to be mustered out at once. We will be home soon tell Mom that....I think I will go to Savanna on the Central of Georgia Railway then take the Savanna Line to New York....".
